In the words of C. S. Lewis:
“Make your choice, adventurous Stranger,
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.”
We miss out on so many opportunities and experiences, so much love and joy due to fear of the unknown. Sure, we may also avoid danger, struggle, and catastrophe by playing it safe. It worth it? The thought of wasting away in comfortable mediocrity has always terrified me in a way that I find difficult to explain. I think C. S. Lewis understands.
Can anyone else relate?
